Healthcare gives people more access to their records than ever before. Access is important, but a list of diagnoses, medications, lab results, and visit notes is not the same thing as understanding. ChartQuest is being built to help turn scattered health information into a story you can understand and practical next steps you can use.
Access was the first step. Understanding is the next one.
For most people, a health record is spread across several health systems. Diagnoses arrive in unfamiliar language. Lab results show up without context. Medication lists are hard to reconcile. Instructions sit buried in long documents. There are questions people do not know how to ask, and several portals that each show only part of the story.
Understanding is not the finish line. It is the starting line. ChartQuest is designed to help people move from “What does this mean?” to “What can I do next?”

ChartQuest supports action and follow-through. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or independently direct medical care.

ChartView is part of your signed-in account. It does not replace the official medical record maintained by a healthcare organization.

ChartQuest is designed to help people better understand and participate in their healthcare. It is not designed to:
- diagnose medical conditions
- prescribe medications
- calculate or recommend doses
- replace emergency services
- replace a clinician’s judgment
- tell you to ignore or change an existing care plan
The goal is better understanding, better questions, appropriate follow-through, and more productive conversations with the people involved in your care.
AI should have boundaries.
ChartQuest uses AI as a tool, not as an authority. The product is designed around grounded explanations, minimum-necessary context, connection to source information, and safety checks for situations where an automated response should not be given.

ChartQuest is a project of Human Viable Labs, an independent healthcare technology company focused on making complex systems more understandable and useful for the people who depend on them.
ChartQuest grew from years of work in healthcare interoperability, electronic health records, data conversion, privacy, and health information management, and from a recurring observation: healthcare has spent decades getting better at moving data between systems. We still have much more work to do to make that information useful to the person whose life it describes. ChartQuest is an attempt to work on that problem.
